Once you have had your energy audit it’s time to get to work! We will outline the most cost-effective strategies based on your individual scenario. If you choose to use us to Retrofit your house, you will then need to decide which energy-efficient improvements you would like.

· Typical Energy Savings Payback: the number of years it takes until
the improvement has paid for itself in energy savings.

· Materials & Labor Cost: average cost of materials and labor to implement the
improvement

· % of Cost Recouped Through Increased Home Value: the percent of
the initial costthat is offset by increased home value

· Qualifies for 30% Tax Credit up to $1,500: many energy-efficiency
upgrades are eligible to receive a 30% tax credit

We recently performed a Home Energy Audit and Energy Retrofits on a 2,500 square foot, single-story ranch home in Fort Collins. The home was built in 1978 and was under-insulated, although there was insulation in the floor. The windows had also been previously replaced. Homeowners reported that parts of the home were cold in the wintertime due to a variety of causes. The whole house tended to overheat in the summer, primarily because of the lack of insulation and a dark-colored, metal roof and siding and lack of attic ventilation.
