Just finished up a new 5.8kw solar panel system in the Fort Collins PVREA service area. This system, which benefits from full sun all day and awesome orientation, will be making electricity for 7 cents a kilowatt hour for the next 25 years. That’s 22% cheaper than the retail rate from the electric utility. Although we didn’t get a rebate, even better, PVREA is net-metering the system at 9 cents a kilowatt hour.
